- Mrs. Mary Garlitz, aged 83, widow of Patrick Garlitz, died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, after six weeks illness, at the home of her son, William, at Avilton. Besides her son, she left 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Avilton. The funeral was held Monday morning. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, Thursday, January 20, 1944
