Evening Times, June 29, 1960 Simon Peter Newlin, 92, of 551 Winifred Road, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital. Born -at Chambersville, Va., he was a son of the late John and Clarica (Highby) Newlin. Mr. Newlin was a retired employee of the Potomac Edison Company where he was a river plant guard and was a 50-year member of Philos Lodge 91, IOOF, Westernport. Mr. Newlin was twice married and his first wife, Barbara (Clark) Newlin, preceded him in death. Surviving are his widow, Cora (Lee) Newlin; a son, James L. Newlin, Keyser; three daughters, Mrs. Seymour Nealis, Swanton; Mrs. Harold Doolan, Lonaconing, and Mrs. Irene E. Wachter, city; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Wendt Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home by Rev. William J. Cox, vicar of Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport. The Cumberland News, January 13, 1969
