She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Metz; daughter, Carol Jean Baker and husband Robert, of Keyser, W.Va.; sisters, Joyce Bittinger and husband Dallas, of Savage River, Linda Stevens and husband Charles and Sandra Wilt, of Keyser, W.Va.; brothers, William “Bill” Wilt and wife Brenda, of Keyser, W.Va. and Ronald “Ron” Wilt and companion Linda Farris, of Savage River; mother-in-law Alice Metz, of Purgittsville, W.Va.; sisters-in-law, Janet Rinker and husband Ralph, of Purgittsville, W.Va., Karen Westfall, of Lonaconing and Sharon Porter and husband Marvin, of Westernport; brother-in-law, Leslie Metz and wife Norma, of Antioch, W.Va.; aunts, Elsie Salesky and Theresa Murphy; several nieces and nephews; a faithful dog Romeo and also a grandchild on the way. Carol, known as “Tuff” to close family and friends was one of the bravest women ever. A two-time cancer survivor, she endured several other health issues along the way. She would always say, “I’ll be OK” and never wanted anyone to worry about her problems because, “They all have enough to deal with.” She was the rock that held her family together and loved them so very much. Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, May 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
