    • Elizabeth J. “Baba” Werner, 95, of Meyersdale, passed away December 20, 2013 at home. Born June 30, 1918 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Leonard Glenn and Anna Elizabeth (Keidel) Crowe. Preceded in death by her parents; husband: Paul H. “Pap” Werner Sr.; and brother: William Crowe. Survived by four children: Elizabeth Ann “Bann” Younkin, Salisbury; Mary Katherine Hahn, Meyersdale; Paula and husband William Kretchman; Paul H. Werner Jr., and wife Teresa (Sanner), Meyersdale; Eight grandchildren: Jeff Hahn and wife Gwen (Long); Steve Hahn; Susan (Kretchman) and husband Fred DiPasquale; B.J. Kretchman and wife Jennifer (Louie); David Kretchman and wife Laurie (Miller); Amy (Kretchman) and husband Joe McKenzie, Charlotte (Werner) and husband Matt Thorsen; and E’vet Werner; Ten great grandchildren: Kurt Hahn and fiancée Meaghan Hainzer; Josie, Jacqueline and David “D.J” McKenzie; Olivia, Devin, and Amelia Kretchman; Bryce and Braden Kretchman; and Sarah DiPasquale. Also survived by a sister-in-law: Mary Critchfield, Green Cove Springs, Fla. She was a longtime member of Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale, where she taught Sunday school for 27 years. “Baba” was a homemaker and caring grandmother and great grandmother. She kept a daily journal for 75 years, which was a source of reference for the entire family. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service is conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with the Reverends Harold and Connie Garlick officiating. Interment Reformed Cemetery, Meyersdale.       MEYERSDALE, June 23. — The home of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Crowe was the scene of a pretty wedding Sunday morning when their only daughter, Miss Elizabeth, became the bride of Paul H. Werner. The beautiful ring ceremony of Amity Reformed Church was read at 9 o'clock by the bride's pastor, Rev. Dr. B. A. Black. The home was decorated with ferns and garden flowers. The bride's gown was white embroidered silk organdie, ankle length and puff sleeves. Her long tulle veil was caught with a wreath of flowers and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses. Miss Martha Werner, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. She wore a gown of aqua silk organdie and carried a Colonial bouquet. Little Nancy Jane Werner. cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Her dress was white organdie and she carried a basket of pink roses. William Crowe, a brother of the bride, was best man. Mrs. William Werner presided at the piano, playing the wedding march from Lohengrin. Breakfast was served at 10 o'clock at a long table. The center-piece was a three tier wedding cake with a miniature bride and groom on top. Besides the newlyweds, covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Crowe, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Werner, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Hummel, Mr. and Mrs. William Crowe, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hay, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brant. Mr. and Mrs. William Werner,
      and the Misses Martha Werner Mary Werner, Alice Werner, Nancy Jane Werner and Richard Werner. The couple left by automobile for a 10-day honeymoon trip to Atlantic
      City and other points. When they return they will be at home at Mrs. Werner's parents. Mrs. Werner is an accomplished young woman. She graduated from Meyersdale High School with the class of 1938, and since has been employed in the Unit store. Mr. Werner, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Werner of Brothersvalley township, has been following farming and at the present is employed by Edward Hay. The Daily Courier, Connellsville, June 23, 1938
