- WESTMINSTER - Betty Jane Robeson, 77, of Westminster, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at her residence. Born on Jan. 29, 1925, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Grace Waddell Staup. She was the wife of the late Albert L. Robeson. She was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Robeson was retired from the G.C. Murphy and the former Leggett Department store, where she was in sales and administration. She attended Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the Westminster Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo at Pleasant Valley Fire Hall and was an animal lover. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly L. Robeson of Westminster; daughter and son-in-law, Janice L. and Thomas E. Kohler of Manchester, Pa.; sister, Margaret Vinci of Lonaconing; grandson, Eric Leese of Ventor, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews. The family will be received at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. Graveside services will be conducted at the Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Frostburg, Friday at 11 a.m. There will also be a visitation in Mount Zion Methodist Church, one hour prior to services. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 1840 York Road, Suite M., Timonium, MD 21093, Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, MD 21157 or to the Carroll County Humane Society Inc., 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
