  Notes	FREDERICK COUNTY — Rita (Chabot) Lavin, 90, passed onto the Lord on March 29, 2012, after a long decline in health. She was born to the late Edward F. Chabot and the late Christina Hager Chabot of Eckhart. Rita was born in Eckhart and moved to Baltimore, where she was a homemaker until her husband of many years, Joseph W. Lavin, who was born in Allegany County, passed onto the Lord in 1972. She then moved to Satellite Beach, Fla. While living in Florida, she successfuly operated a beachside restaurant and managed a condominium. She was active in the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister. Rita was a devotee of the rosary and could often be seen carrying the beads while praying. She was a student of the Bible. She was a volunteer at nursing homes, always attempting to cheer the residents. Rita cared for her mother, who lived with her for many years, until her passing in 1978. Of late, she was cared for by her son, Joseph and daughter-in-law, Brenda. Her brother, Leonard, was a very caring and frequent visitor. Rita was survived by her two sons, Joseph and daughter-in-law Brenda of Frederick County and grandsons, Ethan and Evan of Baltimore and Timothy and daughter-in-law, Nida and grandson Shaun of California. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo; and sister, Alma Harvey. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Wanda Chabot of Beltsville; brothers, Thomas and wife Dolores of Eckhart, Bernard of Frostburg, Leonard and wife Joyce of Hagerstown, Richard of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.; sisters, Agnes Passapae of Baltimore and Patricia Tase of Orlando, Fla. She will be laid to rest in Meadowridge Memorial Cemetery, Elkridge, next to her late husband. A funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Boonsboro, on May 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. Published in Cumberland Times News [undated]
