- Lonaconing, July 12—"Administration," from the Clear View loft of George F. Martens, Frostburg, yesterday won the 225-mile pigeon race from Chilllcothe, Ohio, conducted as one of the features of the Maryland State Firemen's Association convention. "Administration" covered the distance at a rate of 1,157.25 yards per minute and won for Mr. Martens a trophy, which was presented to him by John Seib, vice-president of the Algonquin Pigeon Racing Club, sponsor of the race. Mr. Martens' "Pure Gold" was second while third place went to James Merrbach's "Loftey Clipper." Francis Hughes' "Bean Beetle" and James Nightengale's "Cameron Gift" followed.
