- Charles F. Martincic, 80, of Rockwood passed on Aug. 30, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 10, 1920 in Rockwood. Son of the late Frank and Ivanna (Poje) Martincic. Preceded in death by parents and sister Jennie Weiss. Survived by wife of 55 years, Ethel (Swearman) Martincic; daughters, Jean wife of Thomas P. Haus of Lancaster and Kim Martincic of Long Island City, N.Y., and three grandchildren. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the B&O Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a founding member of the Pine Turn Rod and Gun Club in Black Township. He was a member of the American Legion Post 279 in Rockwood, the VFW Post 7295 in Berlin, and the FOE Aerie 1188 in Latrobe. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor George Mason officiating.
