- ELLERSLIE - Kathryn Mae Troutman, 77, of Ellerslie, formerly of Hyndman, Pa., died on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at WMHS Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born on April 27, 1927, near Hyndman, she was a daughter of the late Emanuel G. and Grace (Evans) Logsdon. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Reggie L. Smeak in 1975; two brothers, Don and Ray Logsdon; two sisters, Rose Wilhelm and Marian Merkel; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Smeak. Surviving are Edwin L. Troutman, her husband of 27 years, whom she married Sept. 7, 1977; children, Darlene Shaffer and husband Guy, Hyndman, Roger L. Smeak, Meyersdale, Ronald "Tade" Smeak and wife Kathy, Meyersdale, and Mary Meyers and husband Ralph, Fairhope; stepson, Edwin L. Troutman Jr. and wife Helen, Brandywine, W.Va.; brother, John Logsdon, Cumberland; sister, Hilda Snider, Hyndman; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Troutman was a former seamstress at Lion Manufacturing, Everett, Pa. She was a member of Faith Community Church, Hyndman. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Terry Campbell officiating.
