- LONACONING - Mrs. Gertrude N. Crowe, 83, of 12 Buck Hill, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born here July 26, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Daniel A. Nolan and Mary (Bailey) Nolan. Mrs. Crowe was formerly employed by the Celanese Fibers Company and the Lonaconing Bake Shop. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, here, the Sodality of the church, and the Senior Citizens of Lonaconing. Her husband, John Crowe, died in 1979. Survivors include one brother, Vincent Nolan, Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Dick, Baltimore; Mrs. Teresa McKenzie, Finzel, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn Funeral Home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church Monday at 9:30 a.m. by Father Gerald LaPorta.
