- LONACONING - Olin Murphy Crowe, 84, of 1064 Merwin Road, Upper Burrell, Pa., died March 28 in the emergency room of Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, Pa., after being stricken at his residence. Born in Lonaconing on March 23, 1903, he was the son of the late Thornton J. and Elleanor Blanche (Murphy) Crowe. A retired 29-year employee of the Aluminum Company of America, Mr. Crowe was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving the American Theater Service Ribbon. A Lutheran by faith, he was a member of Lower Burrell American Legion and charter member of the Seventh Street Sportsmen Club, New Kensington. Surviving are his widow, Lois (Kunkle) Crowe; one daughter, Mrs. Betty White, New Creek, W.Va.; two stepsons, Marlin P. Klingensmitn, Corry; John H. Klingensmith, Lower Burrell, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Published in The Cumberland (MD) Sunday Times, April 5, 1987
