- CUMBERLAND - Chancey F. “Bud” Burley, 69, of 219 Memorial Avenue Extended, died Saturday, April 7, 1990, at his residence. Born Oct. 21, 1920, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry A. and Mary (Albright) Burley. He was preceded in death by one son. Mr. Burley was a retired conductor for the B&O Railroad. He was a member of Living Stone Church of the Brethren. An Army veteran of World War II, he received the Silver Star and was a member of Henry Hart Post 1411 VFW and Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion. Surviving are his widow, Stella M. (Mikrut) Burley; one son, Ronald F. Burley, Winchester, Va.; one daughter, JoAnna M. Burley, Cumberland, one brother, Charles W. Burley, White Oak, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rubright and Mrs. Stella Valentine, both of Meyersdale; and one grandson. The body was cremated. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 7 p.m. at the Living Stone Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Vernon D. Mitchell. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Scarpelli Funeral Home, Virginia Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.
