- Benjamin Hyde, 70, of Moscow, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since November 18. Born at Barton, he was a son of the late Alfred and Catherine (Mowbray) Hyde. Mr. Hyde was a retired coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers, Barton American Legion, Tri-Towns Barracks 2262, World War I Veterans and Cumberland Lodge 271 LOO Moose. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth (Crawford) Broadwater Hyde; a sister, Mrs. Raphael King, Cumberland; a brother, Albion Hyde, Moscow; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Francis Fazenbaker, Cleveland, Ohio; a stepson, Joseph Broadwater, Barton; three step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Boal Memorial Chapter, Barton, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Samuel Shaffer, pastor of the Nazarene church at Moscow. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Moscow. The Cumberland News, Monday, January 31, 1966
