  Photo of Margaret Emily Harden (b. 1851) From Alan Williams, January, 2022: Seated in her chair is Margaret Emily Harden Porter, Hanson Porter’s widow. She is the mother of Laura Porter Stark, wife of Henry Stark, my mother’s next door neighbor on Parkersburg Road in Eckhart. That’s my mother, age 3, to the right. :-) The daughter of John Harden and Hannah Caroline Winebrenner, born 1852, ‘Ma Porter’ lived to 1944. Her husband Hanson Porter and my Great Grandfather, Jim Carter, were both killed in the same mining accident in 1890. Reviewing last night, my Porter relatives have multiple marriages with the Hardens, the one closest to me genetically is Rebecca Porter,my 2nd great Aunt (1820-1906) daughter of Michael Porter and Elizabeth Devore who married Sevil Harden’s son, James (1812-1891) in 1838.
