NORMAN CARL OBER, 88, VANDALIA
"Norman Carl Ober, 88, of Vandalia, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia."
"Services were to be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was to be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials: Donor's choice, Moose Haven, or Mooseheart."
"Mr. Ober was born on March 29, 1912, in Fairland, Okla., the son of Andrew John and Mary Rubin Ober. He was a retired mechanic for Woolsey Bros. in Vandalia, affiliated with the Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia, and a member of the Vandalia Moose Lodge. He married Mary Olive Grubaugh on June 6, 1936, in Mt. Vernon."
"She (sic--He) is survived by his wife of Vandalia, son, John and wife Barbara Ober of Great Falls, Mont.; daughter Nancy and husband Steve Warner of Shobbonier; grandchildren, Ronnie, Jason, Cathy and Carol, and seven great grandchildren."
