- (Medical):Lowell was a good baseball player and played for his high school team as well as that of MIT, from which he graduated as a mining engineer. His work took him to the State of Utah mining country. Unfortunately, his life was cut short when he was killed by lightning as he stood in the doorway of his cabin in Minersville, UT.
