- Mrs. Ellen T. McKenzie, 92, of 13706 Wyoming Avenue, Cresaptown, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for one week. Born July 17, 1895 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Janet (Wilson) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McKenzie. She was graduated from Frostburg Normal School and Western Maryland College. She was a retired school teacher, where she had spent most of her career as a general science teacher at Allegany High School. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of the Allegany County Retired Teachers Association, and the National Retired Teachers Association. She worked as a Red Cross volunteer for several years after her retirement. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Florence Robinette, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating. The body will be cremated and the final interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Sunday Times, December 6, 1987
