  Notes	Shirley Helena Mason, 64, Frostburg, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born Oct. 6, 1934, in Avilton, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Mary A. (McKenzie) Garlitz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Mason, on Sept. 22, 1981; one daughter, Norma Evans; and an infant son. She was a member of Old St. Ann’s Catholic Shrine and was employed for 18 years as a cook at Frostburg State University. Survivors include four daughters, Janet Mason, Donna Geary, and Julie Winters, all of Frostburg, and Paula Hetz, Cumberland; two brothers, Harry and Albert Garlitz, both of Avilton; two sisters, Freda Minick, Barton, and Beulah Hetz, Avilton; and seven grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A service was conducted at Old St. Ann’s Shrine, Avilton, on Monday, Aug. 16, with Sister Joan Minella officiating.
