- CUMBERLAND — Judith Elaine “Judy” Brown, 69, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 8, 1946, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel McKenzie and Nellie Ruth (Deneen) McKenzie. Judy was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1964. She had worked as an operator for C & P Telephone Company. Judy attended Our Lady of the Mountains Parish-St. Patrick’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Floyd Brown; her loving daughter, Laurie M. Brown; two brothers, William G. McKenzie, Harman, and John F. McKenzie, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Alice Dombrowsky, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Janet Durst, Frostburg; several nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Marc Yonker; and, an adopted grandchild, Morgan Yonker.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
