- Marshall Dubois Jones, 85, of 308 Poplar St., Westernport, Md., died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where he had been a resident. Born August 21, 1918, in Westernport, he was the son of the late Dubois B. and Ida May (Clise) Jones. Three sisters, Norma Louise Jones, Dorothy Doolan Cawley, and Mary McAloose, and a brother, William "Buddy" Jones, also preceded him in death. Mr. Jones was a retired grocer, having been the owner-operator of Jones Market in Westernport for 45 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Westernport. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved sports, and was also an amateur boxer. He also played in the Tri-Towns Band. He leaves behind his wife of 61 1/2 years, Joyce (McKenzie) Jones; one son, Marshall D. Jones Jr. and wife Margaret of Elm City, N.C.; one brother, David "Carl" Jones and wife June of Cresaptown, Md.; two grandchildren, Marshall Jones III and wife Kim of Tampa, Fla., and Sean Jones of Wilson, N.C.; four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Dottie Davidson of Morgantown, W.Va. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport. Daily News Tribune, Keyser, WV, January 26, 2004
