- FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Alice Catherine Adams, 82, of Fort Ashby, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Clareysville, she was the daughter of the late Huffman Llewellyn and Myrtle McLane (McKenzie) Llewellyn Wertz. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Llewellyn; a sister, Ethel Umstot; and a half brother, Milton Wertz. Mrs. Adams was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cresaptown. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Russell S. Adams; one son, Dr. Fred Adams and wife Patricia, Levels; one brother, Herbert Llewellyn, Springfield; two grandchildren, Ian Adams and Erick Adams, both of Clarksburg, N.J.; and one step-granddaughter, Hope. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday with the Rev. David L. Henriksen, officiating. Cumberland (MD) Times-News, January 31, 2000
