- Joseph A. McKenzie, 66, Barton, died Friday night at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Nikep, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Nolan) McKenzie. He was a retired coal miner and a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Marie (Ryan) McKenzie; one son, James E. McKenzie, of Indiana; two daughters, Miss Rosalind McKenzie, Burlington, and Mrs. Sandra Clark, Barton; one brother, Edward McKenzie, Aliquippa, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Rosy O'Haver, Nikep; Mrs. Genevieve Knealy, Keyser; Mrs. Annie Whitman, Lonaconing; and Mrs. Wilhelmina Johnson, Cumberland; one granddaughter, whom he reared, Miss Marie McKenzie, and four grandsons. Friends will be received in the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be conducted today at 7:30 in the funeral home. Cumberland Sunday Times [date of death was April 6, 1979]
