- RIDGELEY. W.Va. - Margaret Elizabeth “Peggy” Chaney, 56, of Ridgeley, died Friday Oct. 29, 1999, in her residence. Born on Jan. 1, 1943, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Anthony McKenzie, Ridgeley, and the late Jenny R. (Duckworth) McKenzie. Ms. Chaney was employed as a director of Potomac Highlands Center for Independent Living, and was a board member of the Keyser Family Crisis Center. Surviving are three daughters, Maria Winebrenner and husband Cliff, Midland, Veronica "Ronni" Matthews and husband Gary, Lonaconing, and Karen Chaney, Ridgeley; one sister, Karen Brady, Ridgeley; two nieces, Annette Klavuhn and Jaime Webb; one nephew, Rusty Poland; two great-nieces, Sarah Klavuhn and Mercedes Webb; one great-nephew, Nicholas Klavuhn: five grandchildren, Beth Winebrenner, Zachary Winebrenner, Rachel Winebrenner, Joshua Fasching, and Dakota Matthews; and one great-granddaughter, Jordvn Hanlin. At Ms. Chaney's request, her body was donated to the Howard University for Anatomical Research. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, LaVale, Md.
