RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Jennie Reed (Duckworth) McKenzie, 78, formerly of Lonaconing, Frostburg, and Cumberland, Md., Ridgeley, and a resident of the Frostburg (Md.) Village Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at the nursing home. Born March 15, 1919, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Elizabeth (O'Day) Duckworth. She also was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Ridgeley, the Ladies Guild Society, and the St. Michael Sodality of Frostburg. Surviving are her husband, Anthony W. "Dub" McKenzie, Route 1, Box 192B, Ridgeley, WV; two daughters, Martha Elizabeth "Peggy" Chaney, Ridgeley, and Karen Ann Brady and husband James, Ridgeley; a brother, William Duckworth and wife Ann, Pittsburgh; a grandson, George "Rusty" Poland; granddaughters, Annette Klavuhn and husband Ronald, Maria Winebrenner and husband Cliff, Veronica Matthews and husband Gary, Karen Chaney and Jaime M. Brady; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, Md., on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Kent Durig as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Vigil services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jim Brady, Ron Klavuhn, Rusty Poland, Cliff Winebrenner, Gary Matthews and Zac Winebrenner.
