Born July 1, 1941, in Rockwood, he is the son of the late Ira and Kathleen (Caton) Meyers. He is also preceded in death by his wife Kathryn (McAlee) and brother Jerry Meyers. He is survived by his daughters Margaret, married to Ted Tinley, Marjorie, married to Lee Sleasman, and Paula Jean, married to Joel Metz; son Joseph I. Meyers; eight grandchildren; sisters-in-law Florence Meyers, Beth McLaughlin, Marjorie Grisanti and husband Joseph, and Pat McAlee; brother-in-law Barry McAlee and wife Karen; and numerous aunts, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Meyers was a retired truck driver for Buffalo Fuel Corporation with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Somerset FOE. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Somerset. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockwood, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli celebrant.
