Wallizer, Sr., 64, Star Route, Flintstone, died Tuesday at his home after a lingering illness. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of Mrs. Margaret (Steerstouffer) Wallizer, and the late Jesse Wallizer. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna M. (Weimer) Wallizer; four sons, Joseph L. Wallizer Jr., and Donald P. Wallizer, both of Flintstone; Russell R. Wallizer, Wiley Ford; and Vernon F. Wallizer, who is serving in the Navy; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Taylor Walker, Meyersdale; Mrs. Helen H, Stoutler, Flintstone; and Mrs. Carol M. Diehl, Hagerstown; two brothers, Frank Wallizer, Flintstone, and Dayton Wallizer, Denver, Colo.; 24 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The body is at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Home where friends will be received today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Ildefonso "Tony" Hernandez. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Society. The Cumberland News, August 23, 1973
