GRANTSVILLE — Hubert Lee Broadwater, 58, of 196 Main St., Grantsville, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born on Jan. 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Carl William and Evelyn (Rounds) Broadwater. Mr. Broadwater was a maintenance worker for New Germany State Park, Grantsville, and was a member of Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren, Grantsville. He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Kate” (Weimer) Broadwater; one son, Steven L. Broadwater and wife Rhonda, Grantsville; one daughter, Gloria J. Broadwater and husband Troy LaRue, Mebane, N.C.; three brothers, Robert Broadwater, Richard Broadwater, and George Broadwater, all of Grantsville; two sisters, Catherine Butler, Grantsville, and Rosalie Jones, Riverdale; and one grandson, Lucas. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren, on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Henry Elsea Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
