- FROSTBURG - Betty Jane Fresh, 50, of 228 Braddock Road, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1993 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1942 in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Genevieve (Layman) Raley. Mrs. Fresh was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service for 13 years during which she served as treasurer for eight years. Mrs. Fresh was also past vice president of the service. Surviving are her husband William H. Fresh; three sons, William Joseph Fresh and wife, Debbie, Cumberland; James P. Fresh and wife, Lennie, Finzel; Chris E. Fresh and friend, Kathy O'Connor, at home; two daujghters, Tami S. Martz and husband, Jerry, Cumberland; Julie L. Fresh, at home; two sisters, Gladys Warfle, Twinsburg, Ohio; Geraldine Ultis, Finzel; three brothers, Paul Raley, Durand, Mich.; Edward Raley, Hagerstown; William L. Rice, Finzel and seven grandchildren, Crystal Martz, Travis Martz, Amanda Fresh, Latasha Fresh, Tiffany Fresh, Vanessa Fresh and Danny Beal. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church by Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder. Interment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park. Servings as pallbearers will be: Rob Rase, Dick Fuller, Bill Davis Jr., Rick Kelly, Horace Small, Pete Davis, Bill Rafferty, Marshall Lancaster, all members of the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Deloris Spitznas, Winnie Davis, Linda Rase, Valerie Vrieve, Kenni Ann Murphy and Lois Hughes, also members of the ambulance service. A Christian Wake Service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Frostburg Area Ambulance Service will hold a memorial service Thursday at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service.
