- FROSTBURG — Melvin James Fadeley, 55, died suddenly yesterday at his home, RD 2, Frostburg. He had been in ill health several months. A native of Garrett County, he was a son of the late John E. and Laura (Garlitz) Fadeley. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Ruth (McKenzie) Fadeley; four sons, James E. Fadeley, Star Route, Frostburg; Augustus J. Fadeley, Palmetto, Ga., and Ira V. and David L. Fadeley, both at home; two daughters, Phoebe A. and Dixie E. Fadeley, both at home; a half brother, Ira Caton, Baltimore; a half sister, Mrs. Susan Caton, National Highway, Garrett County, and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, Cumberland, but will be taken to the residence today at 2 p. m. Services will be conducted there Monday at 11 a. m. by Rev. Regis Larkin. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, March 30, 1963.
