FINZEL — Francis A. “Mack” McKenzie, 71, died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born in Frostburg Oct. 29, 1915, he was the son of the late Leonard and Edna (Smith) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie, formerly self-employed, retired from the Coddington Lumber Company, Shaft. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Pa., and Farrady Post 24, American Legion, Frostburg. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Tersa (Nolan) McKenzie; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Lashbaugh, Star Route, Frostburg; two brothers, Eugene McKenzie, Millersville, and Irvin McKenzie, Lonaconing; five sisters, Mrs. Mary McKenzie, Cresaptown; Mrs. Edna McCurry, Laurel; Mrs. Anna Mae Brode, Cumberland; Mrs. Alice Albright, Finzel, and Mrs. Mildred Garlock, St. Claire Shores, Mich., and two grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Frostburg. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Garrett County. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. A Christian wake service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
