Born on July 18, 1945, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Randolph "Randy" and Mable (McKenzie) Rush. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband and life partner of 43 years, William "Bill" George Brant; brothers, Anthony Rush and wife Gale, Robert Rush and Leon Rush and wife rose Marie; sister, Linda Rush Pifer; and daughter, Kathleen Brant. She was also preceded in death by her beloved pets, Cuji and Kibbles. Bill and Shirley did foster care and therapeutic foster care for Allegany County for twenty years. Surviving are son, William A. Brant and wife Teresa, Frostburg; two daughters, Deanne L. Murschell and husband Tim, Leander, TX, and Debby A. Powell and husband Doug, Hagerstown; grandchildren, Anthony Brant, Becka Brant, Ben and Abby Murschell, Bradley Brant, Denay and Cindy Powell; step grandchildren, Lindy, Jade and PJ; brother, Curtis Rush and wife, Ramona, Clearwater, Fla.; sister, Carlene (Rush) McKenzie, Zilhman; and beloved pet Suzie Q. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 7-9 pm.
