- FROSTBURG — Richard W. McKenzie, 75, of 19 Howard Street, Frostburg, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994 at the Western Maryland Center in Hagerstown. Born Jan. 20, 1919 in Finzel, he was the son of the late William H. and Levina (Machin) McKenzie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and his first wife, Sarah Paul. Mr. McKenzie was retired from the Mount Savage refractories and was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of Farrady Post American Legion, Post 24. Surviving are his wife, Grace V. McKenzie; four step-children, Jean Montana, Pearl Short and Carl Paul, all of Frostburg and Harold Paul of Highstown, N.J.; nine step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday. Services will be conducted Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. T. William Preston officiating. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill McKenzie, Fred McKenzie, Elis Garlitz, Harold McKenzie, Jr., Marvin McKenzie and William Short.
