- George Amos McKenzie – Frostburg – March 8 – George Amos McKenzie, 71, a native of Garrett County, died yesterday afternoon in Miner’s Hospital where he was admitted two weeks ago. His parents were the late Francis and Sarah (Garlitz) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie, a farmer, resided in Garrett County until 20 years ago when he became a janitor at the Gunter Hotel here. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Fannie McKenzie, Woodlawn, and Mrs. Pearl Griffith, Zihlman; two brothers, Peter and Noah McKenzie, both of Garrett County; and a sister, Mrs. O.D. Robinson, Cumberland. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home. I funeral mass will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial in the Church Cemetery.
