- Alice M. Newman, 70, Meyersdale, died in Meyersdale, Feb. 5, 1972. She was born Aug. 11, 1901, in Finzel, Md., a daughter of Joseph and Annie (Werner) Clark. Surviving are her husband Robert J. Newman, Salisbury; a son, Paul Newman at home; and a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis M. Haas, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; also two grandchildren; five brothers, George Clark, Lake Mentor, Ohio; Elmer, Pittsburgh; Robert and Harry Clark, both of Lewistown; and Earl of Meyersdale RD 3; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Martens, Loysville, Pa.; and Miss Mae Clark, Belgian Congo, Africa. Funeral service was held Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, in Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, with Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment in Greenville Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, February 17, 1972.
