- HANOVER, Pa. - Jesse Cowden Gassman, 82, formerly of Hagerstown, died last Friday at his home here. He was a son of the late George W. and Elizabeth (Young) Gassman. Mr. Gassman was a retired agent for the American Railway Express Company, a member of the Lutheran Church of Meyersdale; Ohr Lodge 131, AF&AM, Cumberland, the Cumberland Lodge of Perfection, and the Cumberland Consistory of Free Masonry. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edna A. (McKenzie) Gassman; a son, Kenneth M. Gassman, of Culpeper; Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia G. Colflesh, Philadelphia, and two grandchildren. Interment was held yesterday in Rest Haven Cemetery here. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 22, 1958
