- Walter O. Michael – Walter O. Michael, 68, Amherst, Ohio, died Thursday in Elyria, Ohio, Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Avilton, he was a son of the late Ernest and Maggie Llewellyn Michael. He resided in Amherst since 1950 and was a retired assembler for the Fruehauf Trailer Company, where he had been employed for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Inez Garlitz Michael; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Kelleher and Mrs. Wanda Garganz, both of Amherst, Mrs. Mary Ann Poole, South Amherst; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Wampler, Cumberland; Mrs. Lillie MacKenzie and Mrs. Wilda Minnick, both of Frostburg; Mrs. Charlotte Broadwater, Alabama; three brothers, David Michael, Takoma park; Stewart Michael, Cumberland; Charles Michael, Tappahannock, Va.; and 14 grandchildren. A service was conducted Saturday morning in the Garland Funeral Home, Amherst. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst. Oakland Republican, Oakland, Maryland September 22, 1982
